Jessica's Page

Updated 1/1/2011

Jessica was my first Boston and it was very hard to let her go, but she's 8 years old and she needs and very much deserves to have a family where she's the center of attention and only dog. Also If I could let Jessica go it might be easier to let a few of my other ones go. I'm just not able to give them all the attenton they are use to getting. After getting Chloe back from fostering with Angela & Grandkids, I decided to give Jessica to my daughter Angela and my grandchildren. They did such a great job with Chloe I felt like they would be good and Jessica good with them in her golden years. Besides this way I can visit Jessica when I go see the family.
I will finish updating Jessica's page later this week and close her files out.

The way I found Jessica is a somewhat long story. I was dating a lady from Coshocton "Patty" that had Boston Terriers. Her female had (2) Two pups on her first litter. One died at birth, so that left one. Well I've always known of Boston's and had seen them of rare occasions, but never really had any contact with one. So she raised the one that was left a little female. We tried selling her but couldn't seem to find anyone interested. So at about (6) Six weeks after the pup was weaned. I stated bringing it over to my house to keep me company. I nick named her Patty Duke. I got very attached to it. I taught it and worked with it every day. It was so loveable and smart and playful. We were starting to think she would just keep it since we/she wasn't just going to give it away and no one seemed to want to come up with her price which was very, very reasonable at only $350.00. During the (3) Three Weeks that I had Patty Duke a neighborhood boy had seen Patty Duke and on his way home from school he always stopped and played with her. He once said that his mom raised Boston's. They only live one block down the street. At about (9) Nine weeks, long after I was so attached to Patty Duke. Here's a picture of Patty Duke at about (7) Seven Weeks Old.

She finally came up with a buyer that lived in Findlay, Ohio. Well we talked and she/we decided to let it go. If I would have had the money. I would have bought Patty Duke, I got so attached to her but I couldn't afford it at that time. So the day that we were to deliver Patty Duke to the new owners. I prepared Patty Duke's "Last Supper" as I called it. It was a grilled steak dinner. We took some pictures and some video of her and off we went to Findlay. I was so sad, so attached and I was about to let her go. Well we finally got there and meant the new owner's and their little girl. They seemed like good people that would take good care of her, so that made me feel somewhat better. But they already had a name picked out for her. Her new name was going to be Bessy. Here's the picture of Bessy and her new owners. In this picture Bessy is looking at me taking her picture with tears in her eyes and looking so sad and thinking ask if to say. Daddy I'm going to miss you. I love you! Take care!

After leaving I ask Patty to stop somewhere so I could get a (12) Twelve pack. I needed a few drinks, which probably wasn't a good thing to do. but what the hell. I wasn't driving and I felt like getting drunk. I'll just let one of my best friends go. After stopping we used one of the ($50.00) Fifty Dollar Bills that was used to pay for Patty Duke to pay for the beer. But before she gave the money to the cashier I took a picture of it and here it is.

Well on the way home after already having a couple I decided I was going to get a Boston no matter what. Sometime later that summer Patty and I parted ways (but remained friends). Later in the fall I noticed that boy that always played with Patty Duke walking home. I stopped him and ask him for his Phone number and told him that I would be calling his mom about getting one of her Boston's. Later that evening I called her (Jayme) and she put me on the waiting list for her next litter. Well later that fall she called me and said that her dog was pregnant and would be having a litter. So I started saving where and when I could. Jayme call me on February 24, 2003 and told me that the litter had been born. A few days later I went to look at the puppies and decided of the pups that were left which one I wanted. (6) Six weeks to the day of whelping May 05, 2003. I got my new female Boston Terrier and later after talking with my new g/f Nancy she came up with the name "Jessica Lynch". Later that evening after driving home my mother said why don't you name her "Jessica Lynch" Well I took it as an good omen and named her (Jessica Lynch) after the POW and that's the story behind how it all started and how I got Jessica Lynch. Here is Jessica Lynch at about (9) Nine weeks old.
